I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and spent summers in the Thousand Islands, in upstate New York. I was also born to be a writer. Beginning at the age of two, I woke my parents up early to read to me from “The Golden Book Dictionary.” My great uncle was publisher of The Bookman, a national literary journal. My grandfather was an advertising copywriter at J. Walter Thompson, Chicago, and later a feature writer with The Miami Herald, where he was known as “Mr. Florida” for his editorials about the state. My early years were spent around many storytellers, and I wrote my first poem at age seven.

After attending The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, I graduated from Dartmouth College and later earned an MBA in International Management with a specialization in Japanese business. I also have an M.A. degree in English and Creative Writing, and spent a year in intensive Japanese language study at Waseda University, Tokyo.

My work experience includes copywriting and creative management positions at Lawler Ballard Advertising, the Marsteller Division of Young & Rubicam, and Dentsu Inc., the world’s largest advertising agency, in Japan. I have worked on numerous brands, including Panasonic, Coca-Cola, Konica-Minolta and NutraSweet. I have received more than 50 awards for creative excellence, including the New York Advertising Club’s Andy Award, the Athena Award, Regional Addy Gold and citations in Archive and Ads Magazine.

My work for CS Creative began in December, 2007, when I joined the team at Texas Instruments as a Marketing Communications Copywriter. My responsibilities at TI include concept development and copywriting in print and electronic media for Education Technology products and services.

Aside from my copywriting career, I have written and published poetry and short fiction in a number of literary magazines. My favorite writers include F. Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway, Joseph Conrad and Yukio Mishima.

I am currently single and live in Plano with a large Maine Coon cat named Maximum Jones.
